Summary: You've probably never heard the name Edward Bernays, but his effect on the 20th century probably rivals any other single person. This is a BBC 4 hour film series following Edward Bernays and how the disciplines he created/popularised were used to control populations in the 20th century.

Body: The century of the self It's four 1 hour documentaries which have enough information across all 4 hours that it would be presumptuous of me to proclaim that I can distill it for you. Watch the damn things. You'll be able to formulate some original ideas and post them here for all of us to absorb some knowledge. If you've been here for a while I'm sure you'll recognize a few names and places and this wont come as much of a surprise.

To newbies hopefully this makes you realise that if your not controlling people you are being controlled, the "Red Pill" awakening is not purely a Male/Female issue, most people are blue people in all segments of their life untill they "wake up" and learn how things really work, then become Red Pill. You might be Red Pill in regards to Women, but still Blue Pill politically. You might be a Blue Pill handyman, but getting a job in the construction industry will "Red Pill" you into how construction really works. But you'll still be "Blue Pill" in the Plumbing industry.

Probably the most interesting thought that I had watching this was that this guy basically created the great depression. He created a modern day consumer based economy and created the "roaring 20's" back when currency was backed by gold. At least now the "anchor" can rise along with the economy through printing more money.

I was also surprised at the fact that the powers that be tried a few different ways of treating their populations, from rational agents through to barely functional zombies and everything in between.

TL;DR: 4 hours of history on the 20th century regarding propaganda, hopefully it makes you think about what means of control are currently being exerted upon us.
