Facebook post: My dad actually told me this morning that Trump would make a good president because "he tells it like it is" which quickly lead to why we shouldn't have a female president which was because we should never have a female president, not tied to a specific candidate but females in general. How did these people raise a head strong independent woman?! Where the hell did I come from?! I have no clue how I came from this biological family!!! I want a DNA test!!!!!!!!!

me: I dont think he'd make a good president but he does definitely have the most backbone out of all the candidates. people like confidence. it would definitely take a woman with strong masculine qualities to make a good president. shit, most men make bad presidents because they're weak to congress. considering women tend to me more submissive than men (biologically), i can't see it turning out too good. who knows though, maybe they would go full woman-stubborn and not give a fuck what congress thinks. things in your parents days were much, much different, if you didn't already know. men were the primary providers/decision makers, women were the caretakers/emotional supporters. and that's how it was in the wild. men are generally more stoic, hard wired to make decisions, whereas women tend to be sympathetic, hard wired to feel for others. IMO stoicism is the more desirable quality for a leader. all the best (and worst, by statistics) political figures in history have been male. and well, history repeats itself. And that is why I think your dad said what he said. you, as a "strong independent woman" should contemplate why our parents say things that sound stupid to us sometimes. in reality, they are more wise, as they have seen more than us. Smarter no. more experienced, yes. Im not saying what he said is right, because obviously we havent had a woman president to argue against that, but facts of life tend to support him.

me: oh well! I think it was in elementary school that we were taught to read all the questions on a test before answering. not everyone has a good memory, I understand that. can you argue against me like an adult rather than emotionally backlash?

to her "narrowing" in this case is anything involved with men. she reads "masculine" and in her brain she sees racist hillbillies. she refuses to accept that it is possible for a woman to have masculine qualities (empowerment anyone) and vice versa, NO, it's "stereotypical patriarchal ideology".

me: except there's the fact that you didn't say anything of meaning, only compared masculinity to shoving your hand up someones ass (she said masculinity is a reference to fisting, omitted that because it had irrelevant content and then said that I'm losing in our "conversation") I, on the otherhand, calmly explained why her dad said what he said, why he feels that way, why I feel that way, and why nature tends to support these sentiments. and a good part of being intelligent is accepting that you may be wrong, which, if you were to read all of what I said, is exactly what I said at the end.

me: woman B that is true, ultimately, everything is on the individual scale. but considering that we are like 99% the same thing genetically it is scientifically OK to realize that there is an average amongst humans, males and females alike. Can you please provide some example as to how "the norm" is a government machine to foster consumerism? of course women can confront. but the reality is men are more physically and in some cases mentally able to handle high stress situations better than most women. this is because a. men are larger, more muscular b. men have evolved to be the "hunters", they went out to kill food, and so, genetically, are better at fast reaction situations. I dont know if these are good criteria for a president. surely, in some situations, (war time) they would be. otherwise, like I said, I just dont know

"there is a larger narrative" um.....so? you posted about what your dad said, and we are talking about what your dad said. what do other factors have to do with our conversation at the moment?

Well, ya got me there, but do I really need to cite hard data that says that men are traditionally and historically less emotional, more physically (mentally) capable, and have been the majority of good (and bad) politicians in the history of mankind? OP: You are projecting your views of the world onto this interaction. If you want to come by my office at Fresno State I can go through your argument as I would with one of my students. What you fail to understand is that there is a larger narrative and this is just the latest of the saga of the crazy shit my father says. There is always a larger narrative. This isn't really about what he said but rather my status in my family as the black sheep.
