I haven't used fb since 2016 when I finished school and don't have instagram or anything other than whatsapp. I genuinely prefer real world communication over something like facebook. But I live in a country where everyone and their dog is on FB and even introverted people with no lives have 1000s of followers.

The only reason I even ask this is because the dating scene in my country is totally different to that in the US and most people hook up over facebook so I feel like I might be missing out. I would never even consider this if I were living in a western country where it's extremely easy to go out any day and meet hundreds of girls. When I was living in Germany, most of my friends had no facebook or barely used it and they had infinitely better social lives than people back here who have 5000 fn friends.

Should I get back to facebook because of the aforementioned cultural differences in my country or is it still pointless?
