If human females could do this, they would...that is why humans are one of the only mammalian (or other) creatures where the male is larger and stronger than the female.

I read that octopi die after mating. The male succumbs within two weeks and the female starves to death oxygenating the eggs. Each baby octopus must learn what they are and can do from scratch. Nothing is passed from parent to child.

Despite this, octopi are some of the most intelligent animals on Earth and certainly the smartest invertebrates.

In most species of octopus, female octopuses can't move while the male is inside her. Maybe there is a select species this refers to?

At least she kills him. Female mantis starts feasting on male mantis while he's Alice and she starts eating his head first. She's much more stronger and bigger than him, so he doesn't have much of a fight really.
