I'm watching Mr. Robot right now for the first time since I have free time with the quarantine, and was really enjoying it ... Until the main character kissed a girl and it turned out to be his sister.

Totally ruined the show for me. Why is this such a common occurrence in the media?

You probably think that this is a recent trend since the Lannisters are the most famous example due to Game Of Thrones popularity, but it's not. You can look back to even Star Wars back in the 80s where they got Leia to kiss Like and then turned her into his sister. That seemed tame compared to the shit we have now, but that wasn't even unique.

There was a big franchise back in the 80s called Flowers In The Attic which is the sickest crap you will ever read. It's all about multi-generations of brothers and sisters breeding and having kids who then fall in love with their own siblings. 🤮 It got books and movies, and surprise surprise Pedowood made a remake of it for the new generation as well.

Then you think about shows like Dexter which had his sister falling in love with him and obsessing over him which completely ruined the show.

This shit isn't cool. It isn't shocking. It isn't clever or mind-blowing or "subversive" or any of the buzzwords these disgusting monsters like to congratulate themselves for being. It's gross. It's twisted and insane and the result of very damaged minds being given a platform when they should be put in prison or the mental ward instead.

What is the reason for the media glorifying nasty deviant nonsensical narratives like this?
