Well, our politicians have declared that they're seeking a complete economic and societal collapse, so that shit will get wiped out. Our CEO did a video "town hall" today to reassure everyone and talk about "when things return to normal". I spent almost the entire call laughing hysterically. There is no "weathering the storm", we're going to have a complete economic collapse where money will be worthless. Anyone who thinks we can just hit pause and go back to normal a few months / years later is an idiot. Soon there will be martial law followed by violence, starvation, freezing to death in the winter, suicide from despair, etc. All because our politicians chose to burn the house down after seeing a tiny spider.

Got several things. First is a high end ketadyn water filter. I have an extensive med kit including sutures and med instruments capable of removing a bullet or foriegn object. EYE WASH IS IMPORTANT AND OVERLOOKED. Have contact solution in a squirt bottle. It doubles as IV solution or even drinking water in a crisis. I have a couple universal dental instruments and local anesthetic (lidocaine.. which DOES NOT DEGRADE despite what big pharma wants you to think) for pulling teeth if need be. Multiple fire starting devices. Everything from a lighter to a fire steel. Goretex top and bottoms. About 4 rolls of toilet paper which do not have a hollow roll in them. Some pure sugar jawbreakers and other candies which don't expire to either suck on or help flavor bad tasting water. Things like jawbreakers and individually wrapped hard candies never expire. They are basically compressed sugar. Have two small tarps and paracord for building shelter in either desert or forested areas. Side pouches contain a mess kit including a large boiling pot. I have a 72 ounce water bladder with hose for hydration on the move and a tie down for a collapsible gallon water bladder that has a very sturdy handle. I keep ammo for my rifle and pistol on an outside pouch for easy reach. I stay light on food because I can gather and hunt. I keep a few high calorie foods on board such as vacuum pack MRE peanuts, almonds, peanut butter, cheese spread, and trail mix. I keep a small pouch of spices like salt, pepper, Hot sauce, and my favorite..... cajun seasoning. I always carry a lensatic compass and map of my area for nav. I make sure I have a good head lamp which is capable of charging like a cellphone. I have a portable 15w solar panel with two USB ports for charging phone and headlamp/flashlight. This all sounds like a LOT, but fits well in a small 3 day tactical bag. I do not carry a tent or sleeping bag, and that does suck, but it saves a huge amount of weight and space. Overall my kit weighs about 45 pounds fully loaded with water and ammo.
This weight in combo with body armor, rifle, and full ammo pouches totals about 65lbs. Though it it not part of my kit, I always keep armor, rifle, knee and elbow pads within easy reach for when the boog happens. Hope this helps!!!!

Edit: last thing. I always keep 6 troy ounce silver bars in my kit. Good for barter and also if you have a colloidal silver generator you can turn those silver bars into antibiotics.
Edit number 2: I have a small MP3 player loaded with about 100 songs and some decent headphones for a morale boost in the darkest times. Music motivates me to dig much deeper than normal. It reminds me that I'm not the only one suffering and that heroes thrive in pain, suffering and adversity.
Some of my favorite bands are Breaking Benjamin and Sabaton.
