Looks like South Park.
What's the rest of the context for this pic?
[–]arxief[S] 84 points85 points86 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It is from a recent episode of South Park.
If your familiar with recent South Park episodes, basically PC principal's wife named 'strong woman' enters a strong woman competition, but her ex boyfriend now 'transgendered' enters the competition and completely dominates, (played in the voice and character of macho Man Randy savage).
But PC principal and his wife can't mention the obvious as it's not PC bro..

I love South Park for the way it approaches these issues.

I love this episode, it really shows the hypocrisy and lack of common sense of the "equality".

So, I don't have any problems with trans people as a group, but I have some very serious concerns for them, and society as a whole. I'm too tired to source stuff like I want to, so if anyone wants to do that to prove me right/wrong, go for it.
So, first things first, most of them are autistic, and I mean literally. A lot of them are on the spectrum, which raises broader concerns about why so many more people are becoming autistic, and why do they tend to be more attracted to this cause?
Secondly, and this is where I find it's important to differentiate the trans movement with the leftist movement, why are so many Trans people left wing, and why is the left wing targeting them? My theory is along the lines of Autistic people tend to flock towards collectivist philosophies, due to their issues with interacting with people, they just want to be a part of something bigger than themselves (I mean, don't we all? but that turns back into socialists actively recruiting these people). Right comrade?
Thirdly, and I think it ties this all together, PC culture is an absolute cancer. Yeah, okay, we shouldn't use the N word or be a dick to people over things they can't change, but I think it's ridiculous how much of a tight rope people have to walk in order to engage socially. PC culture is all about a small outrage mob getting upset over some "microaggression" and the media covering it because it gets clicks. Not only does this separate the clown world news from how things work in the real world, it hijacks real, important issues and devalues them in the public.
Rape jokes used to be funny, then a bunch of people started talking about real rapes and how they've been impacted, and now it's "rape" if you even try to fuckin' compliment a woman.
When I was a kid, we used to joke that the people in my home town were so stupid because of the chemical plant by the river, but I'm legitimately starting to think something is happening to us as a species because these changes have been happening fast, accelerated by the speed of communication with the internet.
We didn't know that lead in our gas was making us stupid and violent, we didn't know thalidomide made babies retarded, and we didn't know lobotomies were bad for people, all of this is just a generation or two away from us. Something is going on and we don't know.
The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

It's not a bad theory, but maybe these days I'm more of an academic about accepting claims. I don't know how you arrive at your thesis here.
I know it's silly, but the data point I can add is that I was part of a professional fraternity (total mistake btw) that consisted of a lot of left-wing non-profit types that went to schools like Harvard / U Penn etc. It was unique in that I saw them basically organize around instituting a lot of the PC garbage we now all know. Is this group solely to blame? No. But, many of these people were active in making an effort toward propagating it. The group was highly connected. I still periodically catch whiffs of people that are in those circles popping up on social media.
What's my point? What's my thesis? This was a group of kids that were mostly not white, easily more than half were women. Many had the drive that got them to top schools, and yet they felt excluded or different from their classmates that probably came from multi-generational wealth / worked at dad's hedge fund. Many of them I suspect just didn't buy into that form of control, so they went about inventing a new form of control.
What's the point of all of that? It's the schools that are rooted in evil, probably. Why? Well, you can't pinpoint if it's the chicken or the egg, but presumably I think school professors make very little money and they want their slice of pie. So what these professors do is that they invest in ideologies that devalue money (what they lack) and they instead establish some kind of ideological superiority. These would be akin to politicians wanting a piece of the pie and selling their seats and votes. It's all fundamentally bad behavior. I don't have an answer as to why we've seen more of it in recent years.
When you go your own way, you at least take away a lot of the leverage these people have. In other words, they want to shame people into sticking around, but when you follow ole Trumpy's example of not giving a F if you are outcasted it really deleverages their pursuit. I think the wonderful thing is that it takes strength to go your own way, and it doesn't even have to remain as a totally monk mode pursuit. I think what can result are all of the things these groups of hateful people actually espouse: things like tolerance and inclusion.. and maybe the net result is just going about it in a more human way.
I think you're right to point out the interconnectedness. I think deeply on a lot of subjects and this artifact sticks out to me as "without precedent". This means we truly don't know the net effects. A lot of my worries have come to pass with the 2016 election where we saw common sense somewhat defeat the artificial intelligence. This should give a lot of people a lot of hope. I suspect a lot of people have woken up since then (note: not "woke" haha). While censorship still is going on, at least now everybody can see the collusion between PC culture and social media. A lot of their game lacks sustainability (despite their claims of pursuing sustainability), so they continually have to double down until they appear as outright extreme to most people. Just think that the FBI and FTC have active investigations into some of these companies. I hope they are able to bear fruit.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. Allow me to address this real quick:
I don't know how you arrive at your thesis here.
Me neither; I just read a lot, and form kind of a gut level reaction. I know it's not academic and I should hold myself to a higher standard, but I take it as seriously as I defend it, more of a thought experiment than a personal ideology.
When you go your own way, you at least take away a lot of the leverage these people have.
That's what I love about this; no leadership, no dogma, we share a common ground in our differences in pursuit of happiness. There's no right way to go your own way, and there's only one way to do it wrong; not doing it.
Just think that the FBI and FTC have active investigations into some of these companies. I hope they are able to bear fruit.
Your optimism is heartening, but I do not share it. I love being wrong though.
Thanks again for your reply, I'll ponder some of the other things you said as well.

Humans haven't changed much, it's the environment that's changed. Otherwise backward Afrikaans would all be chads. And all whites would be simp soy boys. And no one could ever change. Over all parenting and resources such as land has shifted hands. We aren't all farmers anymore and packing animals together is like domesticating birds or cows, has plenty of problems.
While I agree with the first sentence, I don't buy your conclusions. I wouldn't mind getting into it further but we both know that big brother is watching. I'm afraid I can't continue without incurring their wrath.
Thanks for the reply, feel free to pm me if you'd like to continue speaking, although something tells me they read PM's too.

Linking to Ted K stuff eh? I literally just finished watching the whole unabomber thing the other day and was incredibly fascinated about his perspective, hadn't had time to look anything up... so thanks for the link!

Folks are already getting booted for insisting on simple biological truth that there are only two sexes:
I always wondered how those religious wars during Reformation could go to their deaths over a religious belief. Just think if AOC gets her way. You can bet it'll be law you can't say there's only two sexes. And if they make it a capital offense? Would you go to your death sticking to biology there's only two sexes, or agree there's as many as people feel, to save your life?

From a planet where Amber Heard bit off Johnny Depp's finger yet nothing happened.
[–]TheLazyLounger0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Truly curious, do you have any proof of that? I've done a ton of reading on that case and I've not seen anything about her biting his finger off.

Whoa, my bad, apparently she cut it off by throwing a bottle of vodka at him.
