Today I went to the funeral of a person from my neighborhood, who had committed suicide. The reason for taking his life was related to his wife and alcoholism. This was a family of three with a father, mother and a single child who lived with the child's grandparents. The wife wanted to move away from the grandparents so, they brought a new house. Few years later the wife got a job as a nurse. She was earning as much money as the husband. The wife didn't want to live with husband anymore as she could support herself. The wife took their only child and began to live separately. This led to the husband becoming alcoholic as he become more depressed. The wife was also pressuring him to sign some kind of will in their name and not allowing him to see his only child. One day he had enough and took his life. The grandparents nor the relatives have filed any case to the police. Don't know the actual reason but it might be they are afraid of the wife or they know it will cause problem for the child. We would never know if there was any kind of foul play in his suicide because he has turned into ashes. Now society will view the wife as the victim. The kid didn't seem saddened by his father's death(he was laughing and giggling) nor the wife. His death is a cold & shut case as we would never know what happened behind the closed doors on that ill-fated night.
