Abuse is the shame of the abuser, not the abused. Men who are getting abused are not ashamed but rather embarrassed.

Shame is a moral concept involving guilt, so the evaluation of an action I have committed regardless whether that action was observed by anyone else or not. Embarrassment is based on assigning value to the perception of others, so there is never any embarrassment without someone else observing.

That the word shame was used instead of embarrassment I take as just another sign that the basic attitude of society towards men is persistently one of blaming. The abused man is guilty of having that happening to him.

No, it might be embarrassing, but only if you care about the opinion of others, but not shameful. And the abusers are the ones who should be ashamed. But god forbid one would dare to talk about the shamefulness or shamelessness of women nowadays.

“walking on eggshells” i know what that was like. lived it for 15 years. now that im single i don't want another woman in my life ever after the horrible experience in my marriage. I spend 3 years in therapy getting over the abuse. never again!

Feminists state 'we need to raise awareness of domestic violence against women. This will help women to come forward'.

Let's go with that... Using that same logic, the fact that feminists refuse to raise awareness of domestic violence against men means that feminists contribute to men being less likely to come forward.

Let's switch the genders. Imagine a world in which domestic violence against men is the only domestic violence discussed. When women are discussed, it is only as perpetrator. Now imagine a woman who is a victim of domestic violence. The only things she sees around her is that 'women are perpetrator'. Of course she would be less likely to come forward.

One of the biggest reasons male victims of domestic violence do not come forward is the fear of being falsely accused of being the perpetrator. And yes, I blame feminists for creating this atmosphere.
