If your four year old dog chewed something important, would you withhold punishment for fear of it running away?
If you want to talk to her, do it. If you don't, stop worrying about it and find something else to do with your time.
You are, anyway, going your own way. Do what makes you happy.

I like you analogy so I am going to build on it.
for 4 years you've come to love your wovy dovy doggy. So passive and predictable. You slap it. It wags it's tail. You tell him to wait and he does.... but then one day he growls and gives you a little bite. Wtf? This is out of character. This scares me. This behavior is uncharacteristic of the mental model I have of my dog.
I completely understand why your girl was upset. Not sure how you plan on changing your girls mental model of you.
I suggest that you continue to act with self respect and do what makes you happy. If your girl fits the narrative then have her continue to be part of your life.
You may have over corrected to TRP ideology, but that's ok. Try easing into it.

You got into an argument. That's a huge no-no. Dude, we always talk about how arguments don't work, you can use logic but the woman is gonna hamster. In fact she did, she turned the argument around and made herself a victim because you swore at her. You didn't hold frame hard enough. You should have just left and said "You've established a pattern of trying to hit me to dismiss me, I'm worth more than that." and leave. No conversations, no if's and's or but's. Alphas don't get into arguments with women, the only people alphas get into arguments with is other alphas.

Well the execution wan't perfect 10/10 for style points, but actually leaving is the main thing. Women are experts at goading and incitement.
[–]JAB_JustAnotherBloke4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Very true, you saw how she was dragging him down? How he had cursed at her so he is just as culpable? (as if words were tantamount to hitting someone.) His mistake was not leaving the second it happened rather than sit around and wait 20 minutes for her to be done on the phone, then watch 2 hours of tv or whatever, THEN made it an issue as he was leaving.
That's female levels of bullshit manipulation behavior: "No, everything is fine stop asking!" He seethed in a babyrage for 2 hours which got her uppity and in a defensive position. She had time to formulate how she was going to mitigate the circumstances and shift the blame back on the OP.
He stood up for himself, but long after the time an alpha would have had passed. This is textbook beta having to think about doing stuff rather than just doing it. It's encouraging to know that he's on the right path, he just needs to be more decisive and have more of a spine from the start.

I honestly knew if I left at that point it would have escalated the situation. I should I have held my ground, and wait till she stormed off? Isn't that giving her all the power?

Sounds like you grew a pair. ** She's not coming with you to your new and awesome life. ** Circumstances and bad luck likely but after 4 years in a BP relationship you can't flip a switch and make it RP. Frankly the only reason to retain ties to such a relationship would have been if you had kids whose well being she was holding hostage.
Kudos for you calling her out on her domestic violence. Feminists are right in that that stuff never generally gets better(although the perp is more commonly a woman). It's not an issue of pride, and it's not her fault(since you BPed into the relationship), it's an issue of behavior, safety, standards and human dignity. Your new life doesn't allow people who behave like that.

Here's what's happening:
You've been so omega that the bitch got so used to molesting you that now she acts surprised and starts throwing temper tantrums when you don't allow her to punch you for interrupting her.
Not alpha, not beta, not omega, in her mind you hold the status of an apartment's rat whose sole purpose is satisfying his master desires and being a punching bag for relieving frustrations.
I'm not insulting or trying to put you down. I'm here to tell you the truth. Having this status in a relationship with a woman is extremely dangerous. She literally feels completely entitled to complete dominion over you and is ready to throw temper tantrums, emotionally abuse and fight whenever that 'right' she thinks she has is denied to her.
The only sane course of action for you is nexting the worthless bitch with the most fanatic of all nexts ever implemented in the nexting industry.
Cut off any form of communication completely, to the core. Virtual, phone, personal, social connections. Just cut it off from your life and never think of it again.
Next, go Monk mode for about 6 months, focus solely on yourself and build your personality from ground up with the help of The Red Pill - if you managed to reach this kind of status with the girl, you sure as hell need it.
After lifting, reading, meditating and becoming a man for 6 months you'll be ready to go approach girls, face failures and victories, start spinning plates and living your life as a men.
Did I come off too assertive. I know a man's pride is worth more than gold, but it is worth a relationship? What should I do?
I feel deep anger and cringing at reading this, because I understand that you've been abused and looked down upon for that much time that you consider not allowing some neurotic bitch to hit you for speaking means "coming off too assertive".
"But is it worth a relationship?" It's not a relationship. It's sadistic-masochistic unnatural, twisted dynamic going on at the expense and cost of your sanity, pride, manhood and common sense.
Snap the fuck out of it. You are a man. You deserve respect. You demand motherfucking respect. Getting punched by a bitch for speaking? It doesn't even require thinking about it.
Cut it off so hard it can never grow back.

You're absolutely right. Although my feelings are hurt, and I desperately want her back, in going to hold my ground. No point in going back to being a doormat.
[–]SexyDeviI0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I understand the pain and neediness. You feel as if she's your only (best) option. Your self esteem is low. Your mind urges you to get back to that female in order to fill its biological imperative, but its all a terrible trap. Don't fall for it. You need to resist the overwhelming urge to obey to the weakness.
If the going gets real hard and you feel like you can't make it and you're going to give in and contact her, feel free to shoot me a message anytime. I'll answer your message, we can have a chat, or even a skype conversation if you're really deep and in need of help.
Just don't go back to that man. It is not a way of life worthy of a man. You are much fucking better than that. And it ain't a feel-good shit spitting. You are, and you'll see it yourself if you give yourself the opportunity to grow.

If you have not already, read the book 'No More Mr. Nice Guy' as it addresses the passive aggressive and placating behavior you are using to the letter. Four years in the blue then going red is going to be a jarring change and expect hostile reactions. It may be impossible to re-frame the relationship after that long in the blue, try if you want but be ready to walk away and forget about it. Abusive people rarely break the habit without swallowing some bitter pills themselves.
'Being mean' was a shit test to see if you meant what you said or would whimper back with apologies. Fighting is futile because she will justify anything, like slapping you was licensed for cursing at her for slapping you. See how that hamster works? Your cursing can travel in time back to before it was instigated in her mind. Women do this all the time, they bait you into losing your cool then use that as an attack to force you into the defensive and pulling you into her frame, changing the focus of the conversation to you instead of the real issue.
Why did you wait 20 minutes brooding over it? You were being passive aggressive enough for her to call you out on it. Like training animals or teaching a child you can not punish bad behavior at a random later time or it won't change the behavior, it just promotes more dysfunction. You have to deal with it ASAP so it is clear why there is punishment or discipline and it must be proportional in severity to the bad behavior. It goes the same way for rewarding good behavior. At the latest would be waiting no longer than the second she was off that phone to take her aside for a talk. That would have been a better idea IMHO to risk ruining the night before NetFlix got started because physical abuse is a shitty cost of admission for a night at the movies. The hamster can transmogrify almost anything but your emotional side is where the cursing came from (anger) and your emotional side is her home turf to fight you in. Emotions and covert force are her super power, rationality and discipline with overt force is supposed to be yours.
Good luck man. :edits for typos and hungover grammar:

Dear lord...
In hindsight, I've actually apologised after being called "mean" due to my opinion or point of view.
[–]BluntMFer4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You should have left when she shhh you.
I would have been like ok. Enjoy netflix with the person on the phone.

If you have a long history (4 years) as a beta male "doormat" then one day acquire the first spark of masculinity she will be confused. Since she has maintained complete dominance over you for all these years in her mind she needs to simply remind you are a beta male to her.
You might be better off getting out of it and go MGTOW for a while.
Next time start off with it very clear you are the man and she is the women.
You were her "chick" (beta male) up until you grew up and left.

Dominance? What a joke.
Look, with an Ltr, just realize. You have to be willing to walk away, but short of that, build Smv, or she will walk as well.
As for getting her to act right, you only have three tools. Commitment, attention and affection. You offer them based on the value she added to you. S free will either act right, or get nextd, but it's not domination, it's high value mate retention on her part
That's it, the rest is removing covert contracts and not getting complacent

I've been reading TRP for awhile but still have a lot to learn. Question: If he contacts her now, after three weeks, wouldn't she see that as a sign of weakness? It seems to me it's best for OP to move on and start dating other girls. If this one finds out and contacts him about getting back together, he would be in the stronger position at that point, no?
[–]inaddictaquate1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're acting wildly inconsistent with how you used to be, so there's going to be some backdraft from your girl because she's used to you being an omega.
There are problems with how you handled it. First, you're breaking frame. Read up on dread on how to deal with your girl doing things you don't like.
Secondly, if you do want to keep her, you need to learn how to maintain. Outside of the bedroom, you treat her like a child, a kid sister. When she does something wrong, you exhibit disappointment, use negative reinforcement (read up on what that is exactly), and educate her.
In the end, do what makes you happy, but you definitely need to learn to deal with your anger so you act righteously.

First, I'd recommend posting in askTRP for this sort of thing in the future.
That being said, you fucked up by cursing her out. Not because it hurt her feelings, but because your emotional responses made it clear how easily she can force you out of your frame. Of course, hindsight is 20/20.
Old response: "Don't you dare lay your fucking hands on me again! How dare you? You don't do that to people!"
Better response: "I'm not going to spend time with you if you think you can dismiss me like a child. I have better things to do."
THEN GO DO THOSE BETTER THINGS.
[–]StrongButter0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago [recovered] (0 children) | Copy Link
Okay, I'll post further questions into askTRP from now on.
I you're definitely right though. I should've worded my statement differently. Perhaps it was just all my pent up aggression unleashing to her for constantly repeating the same action.
[–]McLarenX0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Personally I would have slapped her titty or ass playfully in response and laughed it off after showing physical dominance. But, you're still learning and the first step is to acknowledge you've been a bitch and stand up for yourself. IMO you should have left as soon as the act occurred.
Is she begging to come back? Do you even want her back? Is she thinking about you night and day about the future she ruined? It sounds like she's mad at YOU for making a "big deal" out of her being disrespectful and violent. She has stepped on you for years and would feel little emotion to branching out or getting Chaded. In fact, in the three weeks it's possible she's connected with old crushes. I'd try to gain a confession to this effect.
Do you want to be with someone who is disrespectful and violent towards you, and regards you as worthy of such?
[–]StrongButter0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Wow, you hit it right on the head.
She said (prior to stating I was being mean for swearing) that I was making a "big deal" out of nothing. Excusing the slap as being playful. Her expression at the time said otherwise though.
[–]Rayjaysdick0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She doesn't respect you. No way.
