"Treat people how you want to be treated", and other feel-good mottos.

At some point you open your eyes and wake up to the fact that all of the most common rhetoric being preached in the world is pure self-important, sanctimonious hypocrisy. Shit like “Treat others how you want to be treated”, and “you get what you give” are just utter bullshit. Everyday I step outside of my front door I encounter people displaying garbage behavior. Where are all these vocal philanthropists and saints I keep hearing about? Exactly. Its all just virtue signaling on the internet for validation.

You realize at some point that everybody is just self serving, and only value you for how you benefit them. Briffault’s Law doesn’t just apply to women. Its a human condition, in my experience. Then there’s other shit like “be yourself”, “be confident”, and “you attract what you put out”. What other garbage feel-good motivational/self help phrases do you hear that just make you cringe hard?
