1. Don't constantly blame yourself. Sometimes things don't work out. As long as you did everything you could, don't hold on to all that blame and regret.

  2. Keep pushing forward. Can't stress that enough. Don't look back. You're out of the situation and now its time to focus on you. Don't let that past grasp onto you. It does more harm than good.

  3. Go back to old (healthy) interests. What did you enjoy doing before getting into a relationship? Maybe you were really artistic, musically talented. Hell maybe you just enjoyed video games in your spare time. Go back to it! You don't have to prioritize your time with the relationship. Work out, draw, play music, anything to get you back into your enjoyable interests.

  4. Talk to close friends or relatives. You're not on your own with situations like these. Don't bottle shit up. Let out the frustrations with people you trust. Some of them may understand the situation you were in and it feels relieving to know you're not alone.

  5. Make yourself number one priority. Do what makes you happy. No one else should be on your top priority list. Go your own way.
