I once found myself sitting in the living room of my girlfriend at the time being lectured by her of why the relationship was failing. In tears, she told me how I never changed to her desires and needs, which caused us to split apart. All my fault.

I sat there straight-faced listening to her making her more mad that I wasn’t showing any emotion in this situation. I knew this moment was coming because of an ultimatum she gave me a month prior—marry me or I’m finding someone else. Having enough of this lecture, I simply stood up and walked out never to see her again.

This experience was eye opening to me, which eventually brought me to this place. Meeting other girls afterward and seeing other relationships made me realize how an alarming majority of women have the same mindset as my ex-girlfriend. Women expect the man to change to their wants and desires, and the man expects the woman to stay the same when he first met her, but neither one happens to the extent of either expectations.

Modern women expect to be the centerpiece of the relationship enabling this type of mindset. To them, it is ok to give ultimatums and expect the men to change for them. In reality, marriage or a relationship should be a two-way street.
