We're a generation of men raised by women. I'm wondering if another woman is really the answer we need.

It offends me how bad the statistics are in this meme. It's not how stats work.
78% of "teachers" being female does not mean that 22% of children will only ever see male teachers for the entirety of their education.
Saying 100% of 47% is redundant. 100% of 47% is 47%. The 3rd paragraph is redundant.
[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s true... meme kinda sucks
[–]JesterBombs-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If 78% of teachers are women then on average 78% of every child's education is from a woman's point of view/slant. The point still stands that boys have a lack of male perspective as they grow and develop mentally and physically.
Most women will tell a man that they want the truth no matter how bad it is. I learned that women can't handle the truth, especially when it's really bad. Men internalize/work through problems on our own because in most cases, telling the woman only adds stress and complication in trying to solve it.

Exactly, but that's not what the meme suggests. It says that 78% will have 0% male teacher influence in school. That's just not true.

I never said the point doesn't stand. I agree of the spirit of the post. Men should have more male role models than they do currently, especially in the home.

Except teachers have a curriculum they have to go by. Back when I was on high school all the men teachers were coaches and didn’t teach anything.

Just saw a comment that got deleted calling us all incels & that’s really all deadbeat fathers fault. Let’s ignore that statistically women default on CS payments much more often than men, that women get custody in 80% of cases, so how exactly is a father suppose to be a father if he only gets to see his kids every other weekend??
It’s easy to claim fathers don’t care, but in the majority of cases it’s simply not true. The system is unfair & for some reason questioning it makes us all incels? Lmao 😂
[–]ace_kantrillo1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Let's also not forget that women choose to allow deadbeats to put a baby in them. tee hee!

I worked at a afterschool program when I was younger and unemployed a friend helped me get the job . The kids would be jumping with joy when I walked In especially the boys . They cried when I gave my two weeks notice . I actually helped them with their homework instead of teaching them how to do one problem then getting on my phone and getting mad when they asked for more help which all of the afterschool teachers did . I spoke to the kids , played basketball with them and everything . I loved that job but left because the way women would act when they came to pick up their child like I was a perv and creep . I saved my money and waited till I had job prospects and give my two weeks . Still is my favorite job I’ve had but I began to get paranoid about the dirty looks the mothers would give me and had to go Didn’t want any accusations . Sad

This is something men really need to raise with feminists more often. More and more males are COMPLETELY raised by women. So who is responsible for "toxic masculinity" and "rape culture"?
These men have been raised and trained by women. There are no man-classes held by other men -- boys just do whatever works around women, whatever gets them nurtured and ultimately laid.
Men also watch what gets other men laid. They mimic the things that women reward with sex -when they see a guy with a hot chick they try to be like that guy.
There are no all-male situations anymore for men to learn from other men. Women infiltrate and take these spaces over - most recently they have take over video games and comic book movies etc.
So who is responsible for how men are? Women.

I embrace my "toxic masculinity "

That moment you enter an interview with a woman and at the end it seems all is good, then two more come in to give the second interview. Room temp goes from a warm 80 F down to a -40 F almost instantly when you realize equality for all isn't what they mean cause they then tell you they're still going through applicants but never call the following day nor return yours if you do so to follow up. Said position was filled by another woman. It doesn't matter the job, that's discrimination by their own war cry (especially if the man is more qualified and experienced) and proves "toxic" masculinity is not the problem. Toxic women are the problem.

"Toxic Masculinity" is what single moms teach their sons. Boys raised by men have healthy, functional masculinity.
[–]funkykong_asmr0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
Can someone please explain this? Toxic masculinity by the definition I know it is men feeling like they can’t express emotion/show weakness due to feeling like they’ve lost part of their masculinity. I’ve seen it come through in men feeling insecure surrounding things that don’t have to do with masculinity (height, income, virgin status) do people really think that it has anything to do with the gender of the person carrying on toxic ideas as to what is masculine? Is my definition wrong ?
[–]bfte21 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
Toxic masculinity doesn't exist. Nothing else to explain.
[–]funkykong_asmr0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
Ohh?? Is there another word for all of those things then ? You haven’t seen them?
[–]bfte20 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Insecurity, idiocy.
Let me put it this way...
If you're confident of your masculinity you will know how and when to behave. Showing weakness is not a masculine trait, it's just biology. Mothers and fathers tell their boys to get strong and do not wimp when they get a bruise. It's completely natural and should be promoted, not surpressed. Because it's up to men to do the bulk of all the miserable jobs you can think of. Who else going to protect you against other men? Certainly not emotional, limp wristed wimps. Strength is an actual thing, not "toxic masculinity".
That is not to say that men should not show emotions. That's part of the reason why feminism got where it is - men simply took it up theirs without any actual pushback. And men are specifically targetted as of late because weak men create hard times. Men who are confident of their masculinity know when to "express emotion".

Hmm, sounds like the exact reason men’s suicide rates are higher.
[–]bfte20 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
You bring that up, then explain why there is considerable more support for women? Shelters, financial backing...
Reason why death rates (not just suicide) are higher because nobody cares about men. It's that simple.
[–]funkykong_asmr0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
Because of toxic masculinity! People do care about men, women have only really felt cared about for like a century and the shelters and shit for women are very important. I know that statistically men go to therapy less and seek help in general less, I would say that’s because of conditioning from society that says men don’t need help. You said young boys should be told to toughen up? I don’t see why you need shelters or financial help when you can just toughen up?
Edit just to make sure you know I’m being sarcastic in that last bit. Men need help, teaching them to not come to people for help is probably the reason men have fewer resources (if they even do have fewer, I’m not sure that that’s true)
[–]bfte20 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
You sound very young and naive.
Once again, toxic masculinity is not a thing. Do you not understand just how close minded you are? Rest of the world doesn't subscribe to this nonsense. A bunch of self-entitled, rich kids made up this word and you just swallowed it without a 2nd thought.
Men do not go to therapy because there are no qualified people to help them. Most of the therapists are women, and downright feminists. They do not understand the hardships men face neither do they care. Men simply know that it's a free for all and just do not bother with it.
And the last question I will ignore since it's a strawman.
[–]funkykong_asmr0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Woof I’m very sorry you couldn’t find a good therapist. I initially was very skeptical that toxic masculinity was even a thing but I’ve just seen it a lot, my interpretation of it at least. I don’t know what “the rest of the world” is given that I don’t know where you’re from, but I’d like to point out that most of the world is not progressive with things like equal rights or prioritizing mental health. I don’t see exactly how male life is a “free for all” but I don’t expect to. Did a little googling, there are many organizations built to help men with any number of issues (rape, abuse, etc) and many free of charge hotlines which are largely unhelpful but better than nothing I suppose. The phrase “downright feminists” definitely gives me an idea of where you’re coming from but I assume that like almost everyone you dislike the third wave and not the idea of gender equality (hopefully) finding a good therapist can be difficult regardless of their sex, and if they’re good their political stance really should not matter.
Sorry I keep editing, I forgot to ask, what makes a psychologist qualified to help a man? Why are women unqualified?
[–]bfte20 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I've never needed a therapist nor I used one. There was a point in my life when it all went tits up, and all I needed were my parents and my brother. Isn't it against your progressive teachings not to assume things about people?
I grew up in a post-USSR country and lived in 3 countries.
The last question you've already answered - you already know about feminism. Why do you think men prefer to talk to men about their problems?

Can I ask you something? What do you get out of this? We are a community of men who keep to ourselves and do no harm to you, yet you treat us as if you were a high-school bully. Why?
