What I mean is, have you ever taken a step a back and looked at life for what it really is? It’s one big loop to make sure you’re always working and never thinking. Like a big distraction. There’s practically no escape. 99% of people will always have to work, usually for somebody else. You get told what not to say, how not to act. You gotta buy an expensive place because it’s literally illegal to sleep in your car in most places so most are left with a crushing mortgage. You’re forced to have a cellphone because if someone hits you when you’re on the road you gotta call your insurance up, or for other emergencies. Need health insurance because your own body is always in a state of decay. The list goes on. But ultimately every day is the same.

Wake up and force feed

Drive in shitty traffic to work for shitty boss

Go home and force feed after dealing with traffic again

Charge phone

Take shower

Spend weekend getting car repairs, running errands, shopping for groceries and clothes to do it all again

This is a constant for nearly everyone. Change up the variables a little bit, maybe you’re boss isn’t too bad, and maybe you don’t deal with much traffic. You’re still stuck working forever. You’ll never just be able to sit back and relax and do what you want to do. The worst part is WHY we work. It’s because everything breaks and everything is constantly depleting. You gotta pay that water bill so you can shower every night to go back to work the next day. Don’t shower and you get fired for smelling like ass. Gotta buy the toiletries every week so you have toilet paper to wipe your ass. It’s just one long treadmill.

I’m not blaming anyone for anything or saying it could possibly be any different, I mean thanks to this most of us live pretty physically comfortable lives. It’s just that it sucks for our mental health and we’ve only got one life and it’s spent replenishing goods and undoing the natural breakdown that occurs everyday. The worst part is once you retire and you’re on social security, it’s not like you’re actually free at that point. You’re just not working anymore. You’ve still got all the same bills and doing the same shit, just with a fraction of your income. So most of your free time is just spent doing absolutely nothing because nothing is cheaper than something.

How do you keep your sanity? How does one (especially a MGTOW) fight this to keep what little of his life he has left? I’m mid-20s and I’m kind of dreading the rest of life, and my life isn’t even bad in any significant way. I’ve got a little money, car’s paid off. Have a roof over my head. No health issues. But goddamn, I’m gonna be on the treadmill for a long time and it’s tough. No matter what I do or where I go, I’ll most likely be working for someone else and dealing with the same shitty traffic. The only thing that’ll change is how nice of a car I’m driving.

Sometimes it drives me so crazy I stop giving a fuck altogether and fantasize of going out to the desert and living off of cactus and spending the rest of my days in meditation until I die of starvation. Sometimes I think death sounds sweeter than life. I know that sounds edgy, just want to reassure you that I’m NOT suicidal.
