Why can't women can have friendships with men that aren't based on sex or romance?

If you want to have a sexual/romantic relationship with a woman, then be assertive (read: not aggressive) with your intentions instead of pretending to be just a friend and then asking for sex after developing a platonic relationship.

That's what we are saying. You are the one who seems to be confused.

Why would it be confusing? Because in the 'blue pill' world we're taught to be friends with girls, to conceal our intentions and be indirect, pretend to be non-sexual and thereby be non-threatening. We're taught that any sexual feelings we might have toward a woman is evil and akin to rape.

Understand the Red Pill is primarily about mating strategy and tactics to raise your SMV, but it's also about undoing a lot of psychological abuse that feminism has inflicted. Being 'assertive' or direct with your intention goes against everything a lot of men have been taught.

3: as mentioned, read the sidebar: friendship does NOT equal sex or romance
4: once she knows/sees you as her 'friend' (or she actively friendzonded you), it's very hard to get sex of her - you are just not the guy she wants to sleep with, because to her, it (now) would ruin the friendship - guys might think the opposite, as it could solidify a friendship (FWB)

They can have non-sexual friendships, but women usually make crappy friends because they're petty, manipulative, easily butthurt, etc.

They're just too different. They communicate differently, for different purposes, their goals in human interactions are different, etc.

It's just so much easier to be friends with other guys. Being non-sexual friends with women is like trying to be friends with non-carbon-based aliens. Doable, but why bother?

"Be assertive" is a good advice, however some men do not know it or are otherwise unable to follow it.

When a woman finds a man like that, instead of saying it straight away "i don't find you attractive and we will not have sex, ever" she will extract commitment from said man while making him think he still has a chance.

if you get yourself in that situation :

you've shown you are low SMV
you've shown you don't have many options
you've shown you aren't confident in your own ability to have sex with her so you pretend to be her friend
she knows you want her and is going to try and manipulate you
