Long time lurker, first time poster. I found a very interesting paper by N.N.Taleb. He goes on to explain in detail how a small, but stubborn minority can really get an entire society to bow down to their whims. The example he gives are with food and religion.

"It suffices for an intransigent minority –a certain type of intransigent minorities –to reach a minutely small level, say three or four percent of the total population, for the entire population to have to submit to their preferences."

As I was reading this paper I arrived to the conclusion that it can relate heavily to this subreddit and perhaps can explain the huge support feminists get .
