New years eve party the previous night. Next to me a group including a couple composed of a HB8 (really beautiful but close to reaching the wall) and... a guy that looked younger and naive (not baby-faced, but more like a handsome 16 years old). Most people here would find this couple not fitting the pattern, right?

Well, as things progressed I've noticed this:

  • she was trying to make herself believe he doesn't exist (ignoring him as much as possible)
  • in response to above he was fishing for kisses and guarding her
  • both were trying to leave an image they were having "fun" and they were VERY poor at this (there was an air of total disconnect)
  • finally, before I left, the whole group (including her), who was almost ignoring him, simply... left him alone at the table for a break!!! He simply wasn't included and it was obvious that he wasn't asked either...

Man, he was DESPERATELY looking for her to return, like a dog barking to the moon! As minutes passed, desperation grew into restless behavior and abject sadness written to his face (almost to the point of crying). I've tried to match his sight (who pointed at the door, of course) to show some friendliness, because I've been in his shoes and felt bad to see him in this state. He knew that I knew: when our sights matched, he briefly tried to play "happy face", then resumed to desperate/restless channel.

Finally she arrives... Instead of showing rock-solid hostility (as I would have had), he magically turns into a happy state (again, like a dog wagging its tail) and accepts her like nothing happened!

TLDR: This guy was definitely not bad looking, obviously hitting gym often: he was quite fit and his features were moderately chiseled. His problem IMHO was that he accepted to enter a toxic climate: a hot girlfriend that despises him and her raging slut friends who were up to no good.
