Hello Gents,

One time after dating a girl for 2 weeks I decided to make a romantic gesture, and bought her some flowers just to show me appreciation. She responded by losing her temper and accusing me of cheating on her. She ended up distributing the flowers among the girls she worked with.

My question is, have any other men had similar experiences where showing kindness and appreciation to a woman was rejected, and the act of kindness was interpreted as evidence that you must have done something diabolical?

N.B. It turned she was cheating me all through the relationship, as she never stopped having sex with her ex. I don't know if this was relevant to her behavior, but I suspect it was.
