An excellent question u/jimcrackedthecorn95. No-one here claims that every single woman on the planet does not care about guys. This can easily be disproved with individual examples. No challenge there really and I'm surprised you didn't do that yourself!

You might be referring to the use of the AWALT Rule (aka. all women are like that) which describes the trend of women openly expressing their need for material possessions rather than what personality traits they value the most in a man. I need only point you to r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen for a constant stream of the most hilarious worst offenders in this regard to show you why it's a valid guideline and doesn't have to be representative of all women to be useful.

Please be aware that AWALT naturally implies NAWALT (not all women are like that) as there are exceptions to every rule. These rare, divine beings are referred to as 'NAWALT Unicorns' because there's no actual way to spot one in the wild and thus no way to fully know if they're really an exception to the rule or not. Men just have to take their chances emotionally with these divine creatures and hope that not getting married or signing away their assets is enough to protect them if they later find they've screwed up.

I'm one of the less hardcore guys in this sub. I think that there really are unicorns (almost exclusively raised by strong Christian conservative parents).

However, without morals being instilled in women, hypergamy is their natural state.
