Thailand has a higher cost of living than Malaysia. That being said, it's easier to get a long-term visa in Thailand.

Of course, it's also much easier to get hookers in Thailand :).

The Philippines are cheap, buuuuut I’d watch out for some of those Fillipina women because they’ll suck you dry.

I did. I sold my house after my divorce and retired. Lived in a rental for 9 months and decided to move to China to teach. I've been here four years and love it. I have a small business. I work in all areas of education from teaching to recruiting. I just signed a young graduate for a two year contract to a school here.

Cost of living in my city is great. I can easily live off $250 USD a month for all expenses. My apartment is provided by one of my contract employers

Try Olongapo, Philippines. You will find several EU/US retirees there. Also the beers are cheap and lots of relatively clean hookers to choose from.

Edit: Also they're good at speaking english since it is their 2nd language next to Filipino.

If you don't have any outstanding responsibilities or anything of that sort (like - loan, debts, anyone dearly who's dependent on you). Then yeah, you should consider early retirement or at least proceed that way.

Personally, I think you should carry on working, save some money and try to buy a property abroad. Not sure if it's possible to purchase property in another country while not being a citizen of that country (should research on that). After you've bought the property, the only expenses you'll have to worry about are groceries, utility bills and that should be all.

Unless it's a highly metropolitan city, or you have family there retiring overseas doesn't sound too great for me. I'd look for places with strong expat communities. I'd be worried about being completely cut off as an outsider.

malaysia would be your bet, however theres minimum price for non citizen to buy house there and majority of them speak english.

You can get Peruvian citizenship (gives gives you mobility in the Andean Community countries) by just living there legally 3 years. If you are an ethnic and look brown, you will blend with the locals. If you are white, you will get extra points with wahmyns if you want to hook up.

I'm Bangladeshi.. If you earn about 200k USD and move here U can live like a king. Ur monthly expenses will be like 350 USD. Car would cost U about 20k. Apart from that U can earn about + 700USD per month here as English teacher.

I think that Thailand is better than Malaysia, because it is not Islamic. But, I have read some horror stories about people buying real estate in Thailand and then getting ripped off, because they could not really read and understand the Thai language contracts and deeds etc. So, I think it is better to rent rather than to buy a house/land in Thailand. But, some have made it work too.

South Africa. We speak english (also have 11 national languages tho), great weathrr year round and can be almost considered 1st world. However barely.
