Hey guys,

I've been reading this subreddit from time to time now and I often saw people here say that MGTOW are gaining traction and whatnot... So this made me actually wonder if it was really the case and I thought maybe some people here might be curious about this too.

So I went to Google Trends to get an idea of what is actually happening. On its own, MGTOW seems to be trending positively as seen here https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&geo=US&q=%2Fg%2F11bxfgrdjm (luckily, MGTOW has already been aggregated as a Topic)

But then, how does this actually compare to Feminism? Well, that's where things get the most interesting quite frankly. Here's the result of the comparison: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&geo=US&q=%2Fg%2F11bxfgrdjm,%2Fm%2F02_h0

Now, it might seem like MGTOW as a topic is wayyy behind Feminism. Which it is, but the interesting part is actually the trend itself. Over the last 5 years in the US, the Feminism slope has been -0.0072102 (going downward over time) while the slope for MGTOW has been 0.00197776 (going upward over time).

Sooo yeah, MGTOW is indeed gaining traction... But not quite at the level to which feminism is losing it.

EDIT: Just to clarify, using the "Men Going Their Own Way" as a Topic instead of a search term allows the tool to aggregate all known variants of MGTOW. Considering this, the "mgtow" acronym is included in the results along with other variants.
