Yasss kween!! A real kween knows her worth! And it's approximately as much as the man with more resources than her! You go girl!
[–]Careful_Description9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Now that I think about it. Isn't that the definition of stepping over others?
[–]MikeRocksBoat3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
TIL kween = bird screeching queen.
How have I never made that connection...

Prenups are important people
[–]-Fender-36 points37 points38 points 6 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link
"I felt pressured to sign it."
And BAM! Thrown out of court, you owe her alimony and half your savings.
[–]rosethorn13711 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
That’s dumb everybody should have a prenup doesn’t matter what my partner has or makes I will always insist on a prenup
[–]Careful_Description27 points28 points29 points 6 years ago* (14 children) | Copy Link
Don't sign a prenup. Don't sign a marriage contract. Don't sign anything if she truly loves you. Don't cohabitate otherwise you defacto signed thanks to shitty laws.
[–]legalquestion45459 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Agreed
Pre nups don’t even mean shit now
[–]ITrollRedditEveryDay4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yah dont get married is the general consensus
[–]jderioux2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I think the cohabitation for common law marriage only counts in about 9/50 states; it also takes 4 years committed to each other and introducing each other as husband/wife... according to the TX law on the matter. I was common law for a while and then ended up signing official papers when we moved to a state that didn't recognize it (AL).
[–]Careful_Description1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Unfortunately a lot of places in the world have the cohabitation laws and the time it takes for the state to bind you is usually less than a year.
[–]jderioux2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Ohh shit - you're right on that. I just looked up current code for TX and all it says is...
There used to be a requirement to live together for those years before being able to claim common law / the benefits thereof, the change in language is, ahhh... alarming.
[–]Careful_Description0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Does it also say that they both need to report this?
Cause if the girl can just report it herself.... guess what you owe your roommate alimony.
[–]jderioux1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Nah, that's where it's really fishy with the wording. Before it had that 4yr requirement where at least it could be argued otherwise that they weren't that serious - now it seems more of a he-says-she-says in that regard.
[–]Careful_Description1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
he-says-she-says in that regard.
In other words "believe women".
[–]Antipc022 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
6 months in Australia even if she's just a roommate
[–]rosethorn137-1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Why
[–]Careful_Description11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If you sign any of them, you're gonna have the wildest threesome in your life. And you will hate it.
[–]rosethorn1374 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
What with the lawyer?
[–]Careful_Description11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The state, the girl, and you.
[–]rosethorn1371 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ok then
[–]MafiosoMGTOW0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is true. I think the proper response is to have the woman get her own separate legal counsel and in the documentation give her 6 months to agree to the prenuptial terms. Also, if you're not in a common law marriage state then you can just get a private marriage and only put your name on the house.
Even with that all said I still don't think you should marry. Not worth it.
[–]iluvfrostidflaks7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
prenups dont help in some cases, the judge just ignores it. also, why even get married? its that easy to just not get married.
[–]jderioux1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Tax benefits mostly I think - Some healthcare stuff, sharing insurance, etc. There are some pluses to it but I agree as a whole that the institution of marriage isn't so great and is for the most part a money hole for weddings and such. What people don't seem to realize is that you can have the same sorts of nice little ceremonies celebrating love for each other without having to sign official government documents. You can still have a honeymoon, have children, etc., there's just a few more steps with your will and your emergency shit that would need to be adjusted.

Prenups are not worth the paper they are written on. It is very common for them to be thrown out if the court feels that they aren't "fair" for the women and don't give her close to what the court would order, I.e. half you shit, alimony and child support. Unless you can spend thousands upon thousands of dollars defending the prenup it is a trivial matter for her to get it annulled. Hell, she can just claim she didn't understand it or had a drink before signing and that will get it thrown out.
The courts will find any reason they can in order to ignore a prenup, and will use the flimsiest excuses in order to do so. Divorce courts are extremely biased against men, and that is not going to change anytime in the near future. Better to walk away from the entire rigged game and never play. Non serviam.
[–]erise900 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I guess the land of justice and freedom ain’t that just and free. In Poland prenup is taken into consideration before anything else. And if you make more money/have house and stuff you’re more likely to get child custody instead of paying alimony. Courts seems to have that right.

It's not just in the U.S., Canada is screwed up in the same way. (Canadian BTW, no worries, easy mistake to make. Here we have freedom plus poutine, so I guess that means we win, eh?)
[–]erise900 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh okay, my bad then. Well, I always fancied Canada, thinking about moving there after I graduate next year. Since I won’t marry I don’t mind the fucked up law.

Good effort, possible remix might be topical to news trends about women going on dates for food, hence the seagulls.

Yawn.. You are so pedestrian, tiring and boring. When you understand a subject or actually know something that shows you are not pedantic, olease feel free to respond and enlighten us a a whole. To help you understand, since you obviously need guidance, the equivalent would be if I called you a feminist white knight cunt bitch.
I, of course, would never do that as I was brought up properly.
It becomes rather obvious that unfortunately your mother didnt bring you up properly. But that doesn't surprise me either.
This is likely too above your Neanderthal brain, so I'll phrase in a way you can understand:
Yo mamma didn't raise you right
[–]MgtowAutumn2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Safe to assume after you wrote this edgy comment you loaded up fortnite and yelled at your mom to heat up some Mac ‘n cheese. No one older than a teenager or an incel themself says this kind of shit and think they sound cool.

Idk man, I’ve been through plenty relationships, had many sexual partners (not proud of that) and I enjoys this meme as it’s the bullseye of modern dating. Sure at first girls were going for my looks (I surely won the gene lotto) but after a while “relationship” was all about the girl, she wanted this and that and to go there.. for my money (I make a little outside going to college) she complained I spend to little time with her. And before someone says “you haven’t found the right one yet” it was the SAME couple times. What I do now? Instead of spending every other day with a clingy GF I spend every other day at the gym, and I’ve saved up enough money to drive 2016 Mazda and acted in two TV commercials all before my final year in college. So I guess you’re right, I’m an incel with no chance of relationship and you’re halfway right, I have no chance for relationship because I don’t want one. Peace
