Most people falsely think that happiness is the same as stimulation. A good example is feeling validated by an attractive girl who is smiling and flirting with you. Your not happy your just stimulated. Desiring this version of happiness will actually lead to depression and make you easy to manipulate. All other forms of stimulation are also basically just highs that become lows. In my experience the closest thing to happiness is discipline. Working out different days of the week, going for runs, doing your work and so on with purpose is the secret, especially when you don't feel like it. Why? Because after putting yourself through pain and discomfort your body tries to get your body back to it's "normal state" and that "normal" feels really good now as opposed to normal after you have felt pleasure.

You will realise, how futile is it.

You will become so deeply unhappy about it, you will need to find happiness where it really lies.

i feel it's kinda dangerous to reject emotions rather than to be able to feel them yet retain your self control, that's what i believe stoicism is am i correct? i've known dudes who seem pretty red pill, at least on the outside they seem to support masculine virtues, but they went full sociopath with it and are always miserable and strike me as little more than 666 slaves. their life was devoted to chasing pussy and stepping on others, and they just become bitter husks who in my opinion wasted their lives on nothing. i feel like a lot of angry dudes find resources like trp and end up rejecting emotions instead and consider them to be a weakness and become those permanent anger phase dudes.

Exposing crimes is fine but it's not more important than reducing suffering / cultivating happiness and well-being. I'm struggling to see how journalism is more important than self-actualization and a happy lifestyle.

Making happiness your only goal is ineffective, yes. But happiness is not your "worst enemy." Far from it. Stoicism, meditation, less social media and regular exercise are all advocated for by TRP and are all proven to increase your happiness. Happiness should be something you want to achieve (as any human does), but you have to implement practical changes in your life to get there. That's where TRP comes in.
