So at 47, having swallowed the pill last September, I am changing careers. For the last decade I have been a serial entrepreneur (read slacker). I have a computer degree and found out that I can combine that with electrician skills to become a Control Electrician. I'm having to relearn first year Algebra to pass the aptitude test to become an apprentice electrician with the UBEW (Union). At any rate, I've been using Kahn Academy to learn for free. It's a great website that I have had my kids use to help them in some of their math classes when I didn't know the answer. What I didn't realize is all the different subjects they have that you can learn for free in your down time. In Science & engineering alone there is: Physics Chemistry Organic chemistry Biology Health & medicine Electrical engineering *Cosmology & astronomy
