Not true at all. LTRs have benefits for some males.

I've been in online TRP communities since 1987 and hear this every year, but my LTRs historically helped my overall reputation and definitely helped my financial situation in certain circles.

Why "commit" to a woman? Because she serves your needs well without drama or excess cost to your time, money or energy level.

I have always had LTRs, always spun plates, the two are not mutually exclusive.

TRP is not about "belonging". It is not a religion. It is a toolbox, and you can take whatever tools you want. If a man wants a successful LTR, this place has information to help him achieve it. While it is pretty much agreed upon that LTR's are more trouble than they're worth, it is completely up to the man reading here whether he wishes to pursue one. Not everyone wants the same things out of life.

Actually, once your SMV reaches a certain level, life becomes more of a series of Medium Term Relationships out of necessity.

For example, I work in film and attend a lot of premieres and events. I can't take a new plate to every single one. I did that for a while and it was more trouble than it's worth. I need to know a girl well enough that I can trust her in high profile situations.

Also, I have enough $$$ I can take a decent number of trips a year, and I don't want to get stuck with a plate for a weekend when I find out she's crazy / not a good traveler / etc.

I've historically solved this by just dating multiple women, but that gets time consuming, and my current LTR ended up knowing one of the other girls. It probably turned her on, but it was logistically not possible for me to keep that going. Hamsters were spinning for both of them, and they needed to stay friends for work reasons.

Right now she looks the other way when I bang a rando, but the sex is good with her so I don't always seek that out. It's semi-exclusivity / commitment, but by most definitions she is "my girlfriend."

Also: my current main chick cooks for me, brings me free swag from work, runs errands for me, cleans my apartment.

She did that as a plate too, but less frequently and not for important things because I didn't trust her.

To me being an Alpha means that you choose what you want and do in life, instead of feeling compelled or obligated.

If as an Alpha you have decided that it is better for you personally to have a LTR, then that is that.

Women test your alpha-ness. What's the point of going to school if you don't get tested to assess your ability? Women can be used as a tool to assess yourself and improve. The universe is about duality and balance , the masculine can benefit from the feminine as well.

So what do you do if you want children? We are designed to spread our seed. I don't see the problem if you meet someone you really like whose company you enjoy. I can see the marriage argument but refusing a long term positive relationship with a woman you enjoy who has good genetics to bear your children, is quite frankly, beta thinking.

I disagree. Being in a relationship doesn't mean you're a beta, being a beta in a relationship does. Without legal obligations, if you play your cards right you can easily preserve "alpha-plate" power equilibrium. The thing with marriages is that you lose your biggest weapon - an ability to walk away. You still preserve that with a girlfriend. You keep talking about commitement, but what commitment do you sacrifice with a girlfriend really? For me and most of my surrounding "we're dating" = "oh, we're meeting from time to time". Besides, a lot of women acutaly want to sleep with someone in a relationship. In their eyes, if you're in a relationship, you're worth to be fought over. "Forbidden fruit" and all that shit.

I won't downvote your post though, i'm curious what other <especially endorsed contributors> think about this matter.

P.S. I heard that in the US, You can get "divorce" raped even if you didn't actaully get married in the first place, if you're living together. If somebody can confirm, i strongly advise you all to have some fucking sense in your heads and don't do anything that can actaully lead to it

LTR and monogamy is a beta's strategy to secure consistent sex for himself by exchanging his resources -- financial and emotional -- for, theoretically at least, consistent sex. If you've developed a repeatable game plan to bang new chicks regularly, the thought of even PLATING chicks makes no sense, much less LTRing or, gasp, marrying them. Even plating would be unthinkable. Think about it.

You can very easily judge the experience of guys by reading about their "ideal" dating life.
