Am I shallow for wanting a guy with a decent job?

Nowadays it seems like most of the men I meet aren’t doing much with their lives. They seem to not want to go to school which is fine, but don’t want to “work for someone” either. They want to own their own businesses but they don’t seem to want to put in the work. My last boyfriend went to school but never finished and ended up working in the mall. The guy I met at the grocery store was an up and coming rapper, but we’re both 29 and I think it’s time for him to be more realistic. Yesterday I went on a date with this guy my friend set me up with and he works at Walmart. I asked him what his goals were and he said he’s living in the moment. I asked him if he wanted to work at Walmart forever and he got offended and told me if I’m a gold digger then I came to the wrong place. My friend heard of this and said I’m too picky. I don’t want someone swimming in money, I just want you to not live paycheck to paycheck. It feels like women are more successful than men these days and we seem to work harder. Am I honestly being too picky or what? Would you guys be ok with dating a person that was ok with living the struggle life when they didn’t have to?
