They are just acting in the best interests of themselves. Pushing this agenda solves quite a few problems for feminists.

If they ever find themselves in this predicament, they will have access to a male work horse.

It emasculates men which directly corresponds to more control over them by women.
It allows them to continue using the laws and courts to extract resources from men. The more men that buy the Marriage Product™, the more useful it is on a whole to them. Pushing single mothers on men and shaming them into being "Real Men" makes marriage seem like a lot better scenario. Basically, they push consideration of single mothers so that men look at non-mother single women as a better deal than they are. It's like be presented with 2 options at the store, one product costs more and has less features, the other costs less and has more features. Now, the cheaper product is a good deal even if it was marked up 1000% retail already.
