I’ve been single for about 8 months, now, and that breakup had me in a really dark place for about 4 months. I didn’t eat much, I didn’t treat myself very well (eating habits, drinking, not socializing, etc.), and I really thought it would stay that way for a very long time.

For too long, I thought that the only way to be truly happy was to share my life with someone, and I kept looking for another partner to fill a “void”. And then I found this community a few months back, and my life turned around for the better.

When I found this sub, I wasn’t exactly sure how to feel. I consider myself to be somewhere in between Liberal and Moderate on the political spectrum, and while there are some more “conservative” posts on this sub that I don’t necessarily agree with, I can respect that everyone has their own opinions and beliefs.

What really struck me with this community is “forging your own identity”, which is something I always struggled with. Like I said previously, I thought happiness was dependent on having a partner to share it with, but this community taught me that this simply wasn’t the case.

In the last 2 months, I have fixed my eating habits, gotten back in the gym (which I am loving, I’m making great progress), spent more time with my family and my friends, and most importantly, I’m happier than I have ever been in my 19 years on Earth.

Huge thanks to the people in this community, keep going your own way fellas.
