I enjoy the song from time to time. It has a nice sentiment to it just like all of the other sons over history on that subject matter. I know some would say it is blue pill trash, but I think you have to dig deeper. Look at the music as it relates to the time it was created. Women did not seem to be the bad bet that they certainly are now, men really didn't have need of redpill mentality, or at least didn't think they did. They had no concept of just how duplicitous women actually could be, and the system was not completely slanted toward females. In that context the music makes sense. To go one further, you also have to consider that the truth of the subject matter is irrelevant. All women could be manipulative thots, but the singer is crooning about an ideal that may not exist anywhere other than his mind, and he may be aware of that. Or to greatly simplify, maybe "she" is just how he refers to a pet, motorcycle, car, etc.

Not particularly. It's a fantastic song, but also a warning of how not to live one's life.

The first time I heard this song was on season 1 of American Idol, sang by Christina Christian and the gender was reversed...

As such, this song will always be about a woman grieving the loss of a good man and how she'll never be happy without him.

It's a beautiful song as far as the music goes, of course I hate the sentiment . Being redpilled has ruined much of the music I love unfortunately... When a Man Loves aWoman ...... This is a Mans World .... I was made to love her ....

I will say I love playing " who is He and what is he to you" by Bill Withers though .. that song has only become more amazing as I've been awoken .
