Hey guys I got married to this girl that I knew from high school way back. I was the nerdy unpopular kid that no girls paid attention to and I mustered up my courage to ask out this girl Rachel who I tutored in math after school. She turned me down nicely and put me in the friend zone as she wasn’t attracted to me but really liked me as a friend. At the time I expected it as she was one of the popular girls and I was just a nerd out of her league so I didn’t blame her.

After I graduated high school, I went on to college to get my degree in software engineering and now I make six figures a year doing what I love. I ran into Rachel at a restaurant I went out to eat at for lunch where she was working as a waitress. She asked how I was doing and what I now do for a living and I told her. I initially thought she was just making friendly small talk and she was gonna leave it at that, but she gave me her number and said we should catch up sometime.

I figured why the hell not so we exchanged numbers and then a few days later, she texts me asking to go get coffee which surprised me as she made the first move and was asking ME out. Given that she friendzoned me in high school, I just came to the conclusion that she wanted to just meet up as friends but I was wrong. When I met up with her, she was talking about how she was working really hard waitressing to pay for her college and how she has been lonely because every guy she dated was a jerk.

That was when I started to realize she started becoming attracted to me and that I finally had a shot so I asked her out once again. This time she agreed and we started dating for about a year and a half. After all that time, Rachel started to hint that we should get married but me not naturally being a ladies man, didn’t pick up the hint for a while before I realized. I proposed to her two months later and we were able to have a perfect wedding as we are both Catholics.

Fast forward 2 years later and we are living happily married (or so I thought). I came to find out she has been cheating on me with her personal trainer and I was devastated. She started crying and told me that she felt like I was emotionally unavailable since I was so caught up in developing new softwares for these big time companies. I think it may have been my fault and I have decided to give her another chance. What would you suggest I do to be a better husband to my wife so that she doesn’t have to go out and cheat on me ?
