A few days ago, I was waiting for the green light to cross the street and I was literally right next to a women talking to someone like a ghost who was not there and apparently she was having a heated discussion about who knows what and she didn't care what others thought of her.

That shit is real insane.

Talking to yourself is practically the expression of one's 'internal voice/monologue'. It's a fascinating thing, especially once one realizes that not everyone 'thinks with words' which is what the 'internal voice' really is. The NPC meme sprung after a study came out that most people don't have this way of thinking which the chans jokingly took as proof that most people are NPCs and soul less.

I always 'thought with words' so I can't say much about this other than I always seem to act on impulse/instinct when 'not thinking things through'. However I only 'think out loud' when I am really frustrated and need to vent or in the midst of converstation.

I don't want to even imagine being in the head of a woman so I can't say why one would speak her inner thoughts without cause, other than bitches be crazy.

We have someone like this at my job. She is the administrative assistant. Basically the housekeeper of the office. She is always around the office doing little tasks but always taking to her self. Super fucking weird.

I have say men and woman do it to be honest. Trying to come up with something here lol but I think we need some data brother.

I sometimes talk out loud to myself while I'm walking around, the reason is because I find it easier to actually formulate ideas into coherent thoughts if I practice conveying them. It's not for a particular purpose in my case, other than because I feel like doing it, but think of it perhaps somewhat like rehearsing for improv performances.

For children to develop language they need an adult to narrate, describe and indicate the focus of what is going on around them. Pointing and naming, modelling reactions and emotions, describing characteristics and differences, anticipating change then using language for rhyme, song and word games. etc etc.

A person who has spent a lot of time around children should do this as second nature. Talking crazy shit is a whole different thing.

Unfortunately parents who cannot lift their face away from a screen to interact with their child and to help their child interact with the world is limiting the childs development. You know the ones I mean.
