Your entire argument is very weak. First off, be more specific about what theories you are challenging.

Secondly, hypergamy does not have much to do with looks in comparison to wealth and status.

Thirdly, whether you are an attractive women and if you significant other is attractive is debatable since there is no way of knowing what you look like. Its natural, especially for a women, to claim they are more attractive then they actually are.

Ms. Typogoddess1, first key point: any and all models are design to explain most of the cases, not all. This is specially true when it comes to modeling human behavior, which can be rather erratic at times.

That being said, even if you think you do not fit the categorization we mention in the most extremes version, which has been causing all kinds of headache for men over the years, you're displaying some of it in this very post. Specifically: solipsism. Once the rage phase passes, we all understand that this is part of female nature. When we get to this point, we can't hate you for it the same way we can't hate a cat for purr or a man for his attraction to neotony. It's just how our instincts work. Simply put, you try do break our arguments and end up proving our point. Now, given how divorce courts work and the average (please, pay attention that I'm talking about a general pattern, not about the behavior of a specific individual) member of our society will constantly shame man into hide their feelings, excuse women misbehavior and grant them rights without several of the duties expected of men, I can say with confidence that you would do well in studying any topic further than a single day before any criticism. To the original poster:

Keep in mind that, just because something is mentioned by someone on this group, does not make it a part of MGTOW.

Most descriptions of MGTOW that I have read are very simple: Typically, a MGTOW does not get married or have serious long-term romantic relationships. That's it.

While you may find other ideas discussed on a MGTOW group, that doesn't mean that every MGTOW agrees with those ideas. In fact, a person may often be speaking only for THEMSELF.

When talking about patterns that people have experienced in dating, people almost necessarily have to speak GENERALLY. Because, after all, how could anyone possibly know what is going on in every person's brain in the dating world?

Look at it this way: Let's say that a guy on this group went MGTOW because he had a series of disappointing experiences with dating. Now let's say that one woman walks up to him and says, "I'm not like that." Has she, by herself, and just by speaking those words, disproven all of his experiences in the dating world?

Also keep in mind that you may not be aware of how a lot of "non-Chad" guys experience the dating world. Even if you think that you've known and dated non-Chad guys, they may be more Chad-like than you considered them. Many non-Chad guys hardly get dates at all, they have to practically jump over mountains to get some women to date them, then often just to be told after a date or two that there was "no connection" or something like that. I think you'd be surprised how many guys are out there like that. If you've never been around very many of them, how would you know their story?

For me, I get along well with women. I don't have any issues with women, and I don't consider that to be what MGTOW is about, although we do have people on this MGTOW group who are unhappy and disappointed, for example, after going through a bad divorce.

For me though, I went MGTOW, because I tried to do all the things that society says are good to do, as best I could. I tried to date, with my best efforts, for a very long time. I tried to meet lots of different women. Most of the time I was ignored and/or treated as low-value. When I found a romantic relationship, it always either went nowhere or even turned into a bad experience.

When I found out about MGTOW, it made total sense. Dating had turned into a huge waste of time over many years, from my experiences. I do not think that it is any particular person's fault, just that the overall dating system seems ridiculously unfair. Let me put it this way: When I first started dating, I had thought that there was more diversity in what attracted people to each other, so that even a regular non-Chad, if he's a good guy, could find a woman that he is really attracted to, even if that's only 5% or 1% of the women that he would be interested in dating. I thought that maybe he could make up for not looking like a Chad, by other things about him.

I really haven't found that to be true, and, from reading this MGTOW group, many other guys have noted the same thing.

So, it's so difficult for so many guys even to find a serious romantic relationship; and then you should read this group for a while and see some of the horrible stories of romantic relationships that have turned out badly.

After a long enough time of disappointments and/or bad experiences with dating, don't you think that it is only natural that a guy is ready to go MGTOW when he finds out about it? Why would he keep doing things that are not turning out well for him?

Remember that MGTOW is a fairly new name, but this has always been an option in cultures that I am aware of, that nobody is REQUIRED to get married. People should date and get married because it makes them HAPPY and turns out WELL for them, NOT because they are told that they shouldn't be MGTOW and should HAVE to get married.

When I see people talk negatively about MGTOW, I notice a couple of themes: First, they never address why a guy should HAVE to date and get married if he doesn't want to. Because that is basically what they are arguing if they say that a guy shouldn't go MGTOW. Second, they get unhappy with the idea of MGTOW, but they never realize that it is a reaction to the way our society is. They get upset at the symptom, instead of what caused the symptom. They don't talk about how an unfair dating world could be made better, for example. Perhaps those problems are too big for them to talk about, or even consider solving. So, instead, they usually spend most of their argument basically saying "MGTOW bad." Which does very little to accomplish anything.

I think you got focused on details of certain ideas that some people discuss on this group, but I don't think you got into the "big picture" of MGTOW. A lot of it is, basically, if you aren't having good experiences doing some activity, why would you keep doing that activity? Or, in some cases, guys have seen other guys go through bad divorces, etc. Or it may be a combination of these things, and other things.

Hypergamy is scientifically proven to exist in many species including humans.

Just because you’ve seen many couples that appear “happy” does not mean they are actually happy, or stable, or even long lasting.

There is a reason why the divorce rate is so fucking high and a vast majority of those divorces are initiated by the women.

Sure there are exceptions here and there (my grandparents for example, they’ve been married since they graduated high school and died within months of each other in the same house)

But the point still stands: ALL women are hypergamous, and ALL women, given the chance, will follow said instinct. Now every woman are different with respect to how hypergamous they are, but when given the chance (and in out case society actually ENCOURAGES women to be hypergamous), a vast majority of women will abandon their partners for a better deal. (Again, see divorce rates)

Your anecdotal “evidence” does not prove statistical research and data wrong. Our point still stands.
