NOTE: Take what I say with caution, as I'm in high school and still don't know a lot of shit.
Been subbed here for a couple of months. Now I'm not going to say that this sub saved my life or something, but during the time that I've been subbed here, my confidence has also increased tremendously.
Confidence in what way? Quite a large field. Being in high school, this is in different areas than most for me. Girls, "popularity", respect from teachers and "Chads", working with(even leading at times) adults, public speaking etc
As the title suggests, I think that mental game is more important in A: Girls and B: All-around social well-being.
Now I'm not physically weak by any means. I still go to the gym regularly, and when I'm not doing that I do running, biking, or play sports of some kind. I have a 6-pack , good biceps triceps etc, and jacked legs(soccer player and runner). But I'm not hardcore about my physical appearance and still a bit slender, unlike some of my gym mates.
I instead choose to work on what was once a void of charisma and confidence in me. One thing that has helped tremendously is moving schools on average every year for the last 4. Each time, I've had a restart and slowly improved myself(a lot the last time). Now I understand that not every person has this chance, but you can still reinvent yourself even if you're around the same people.
How do you improve this? Talk more. Talk to different people. But don't talk negatively. I don't care if someone starts talking about mansplaining or some shit don't be negative to them. Don't try to argue with the person. If you really hate someone, distance yourself from that person and ignore him/her.
Secondly, fix up your posture if you haven't already. Chest forward, straight up, shoulders broad, back of your neck straight. It makes you look taller and broader without needing any genetics. I myself am rather tall(predicted to be 6 foot 3 by age 20), but don't have the most broad shoulders. Posture helps a lot. There's also one little trick you can do in conversation. If you want to enter a 2 or more convo, enter in with weak posture and open up once you want attention or have something to say. It asserts yourself without looking like you want to completely dominate the group, as you were just looking down a second ago.
The last one I have to say, become friends with people when you have the chance. Start out as just someone who's there, and become part of the group. However don't just go there constantly, be in different circles unless you're some sort of a core member. Don't act like you need to be in that circle. Eventually you'll be welcome and appreciated by everyone there when you join them, and you got yourself some loyal friends. And try to have a diverse set of friends, hang out with any group you can. For me it's literally everyone but the weebs, extreme SJWs, and people with extreme levels of anxiety. Potheads, rednecks, ghetto wannabes, jocks, gym fanatics(yes the two are different where I am), basic girls, volleyball girls (just play in the back line and let them do the spiking, it's beautiful), "artsy" girls etc
You should have your confidence grow, and you're obviously at a good place for that being on this sub. However, don't act like you're hot shit until you've reached your goal.
Now how does this tie back to the theme of this sub? Well, this sub is about men becoming more and more beta in our times, and just getting pussy in general. I'm still a virgin, not many shits given though. I date quite a decent amount, just broke up with a girl because she went to waaaay too many house parties for me not to be suspicious.
Anyways, in high school, especially in Southern Ontario(not Toronto though, thank God), mass production of betas is heavily promoted. I've seen fucking slam poetry as a school presentation man. At least every month there's some sort of gay pride event in my school(no, I don't hate gays, I'm chill with them too). The most common topic hands-down in our history and civics classes are women's rights and feminism. We have presentations on domestic abuse, where the parts about men's abuse is no more than being on the side of some of the slides about women's mental abuse. In our ENGLISH CLASS we had a presentation on cultural appropriation, which is the most ironic lesson I've ever had.
You get the point, our school system cucks up the students pretty hard. I don't think I've ever had a teacher or presenter talk about confidence in boys and men, just for the ladies. So the confidence you have to acquire yourself.
To conclude, is physique more important than mental game for those that want one-night stands? Perhaps. However, mental game is undeniably more important for long term relationships and general social relevance and functioning, which is what I'm looking for, and maybe quite a lot of you. Even for the one-nighters and just merely attracting girls, they can feel the vibe from you if you radiate confidence. Remember not to scare them though.
TL;DR Skills such as confidence and charisma are IMO more important than sheer physical appearance. Obviously I'm not saying don't get the gains, but don't be coming out of it missing the mental ingredient. There are gradual ways to improve your social abilities, which lead to being more attractive and really setting you apart for women in this world of betas.
