Are you happy because you were celibate or are you happy because you were exerting control over your life? Sometimes the things that we think make us happy aren't the reason we're happy, it's the act of doing those things (example, shopping makes a lot of people happy, but it's not the things they buy, it's the act of shopping). This is where addiction resides. Dopamine released on the cue of the act you're fixating on.

What exactly are your goals? Are you asking for advice on staying away from these women, or how to regain your celibacy? Are you just asking for advice in general? (Eat healthy, avoid too many carbs, moderate exercise for at least 30 minutes 3 times a week and don't stay out in the sun too long).

Good for you, mate. I won't tell you not to have sex; that's to be determined for each man going his own way. What I will encourage you to do is to never compromise your goals or principles for sex or any other sort of female validation. Down that road lay slavery and madness. Your celibacy is obviously important to you, otherwise you would not have persisted 2.5 years. See it through, brother. Any girls that flirt with you, make it clear that you're flattered but that you're focusing on other things right now.

I’m about a year celibate now, and also have avoided opportunities not to be. It’s such a internal struggle of wanting to but knowing it more than likely will lead to difficulties (clingy girls, potential trouble etc)

It’s also hard to shake the feeling of not be “normal” by not chasing every pussy that presents itself. Turning your back on the herd is difficult, even if you have every logical reason to do so.

I’ve left the herd, but I can’t say I’ve reached inner peace with it, but I’m getting closer.

Just like you, I’m happier by far. Each girl I slept with before would cause me misery. It was never just a lay. Sometimes they would practically stalk me, other times begin to try and start controlling me, getting angry when I didn’t call or text regularly etc. I’ve never experienced a complete no strings attached lay, it’s always had conditions - usually tacit
