This post is meant to be my recent perspective on relationships. It is not meant to be incendiary or degrading. Please comment if you disagree or have other viewpoints, I genuinely would be interested in answers to my rhetorical questions.

I recently went to a wedding of a close friend that I estimate cost approximately $40,000 (there were between 175 and 200 people, usually a plate costs $200 per person at the venue, and this ceremony was in the northeastern United States, and had a live band; it was a classy, excellent event). It was great, but I left thinking "what on Earth is the point?" I am really questioning the point of any relationship in the modern time because 1) I cook, clean, sew, and do everything else (file taxes, fix cars, repair computers, build furniture, manage capital, and paint crappy art) by myself, 2) another person would just really be an additional expense line on the "household income statement", and 3) astoundingly most Millennials (like myself) are highly unskilled outside of their jobs (most people cannot install or fix an air conditioner, fix a broken pipe, or setup a basic high-speed Internet connection). What would a woman really add to my setup? For those suggesting romance, affection, children, and enjoyment, I increasingly find myself really not seeing the value of these things being higher than their expense or the phantom cost of a possible divorce. Most women I have dated are highly unreliable and nonlinear (moody, problematic, large complainers, idle, and cannot multitask or balance priorities). I really think it is irresponsible to have children if you are not trying to raise them well or do a quality job, and overwhelmingly my generation is nowhere near ready to become parents (most Boomers were garbage parents too, constantly looking for shortcuts and ways to cut corners). There was a time I really, really wanted a girlfriend, but right now, I could not care less about starting a family or spending time with someone; I am completely disinterested despite being 34.

What does everyone else think? Does anyone else feel the way I do? How do you feel the same or differently?
