Yep. All the time. Every day. All day. I try my best to avoid conversations that involve anything with politics or media. Don't have any SocMed at all either, so that when people reference this, or that on their SocMed accounts, I am literally at a lost for words/have no frame of reference. Can play dumb.

The further you get from it, I call that perspective. You can jump in every now and then and the ‘Narrative’ is obvious. Free your mind.

I don't really avoid it, I just don't let myself be affected by it. Despite what 99% of what people will tell you, the media favors women and minorities, especially people of color. So if something sparks my interest in the media fantasy world, I try to research the scenario in other sources that I know to be biased the opposite way. For instance, if I see something happen on CNN, I try to look on a more conservative site or channel for the same event and develope a viewpoint only once I see all the facts from both political wings.

Of course, that's only what I do for things I really care about, which is typically limited to very little.

I read a lot of it even if I don't agree with it. Sort of like the Socratic method without the questions. Their brainwashing or shaming tactics wont work on you if you can think for yourself so it's almost a compliment for perspective, noticing bullshit can be helpful.

The absurd appeals to me probably because I can't take current events seriously. It doesn't interfere with my ability to believe six impossible things before breakfast.

So yeah, I form my own opinion based on what data is available, but it's not my go to subject to start a conversation.
