I'm at an engineering college in India. This year, Microsoft, Adobe and some other companies only came for women. They have female only hackathons, contests etc. Earlier, it used to be the case that they would hire females preferentially, but this time around, males weren't even eligible.

Funny thing is, the gender ratio is about 1:8. Its upto the point where everyone knows that you're gonna board the Microsoft bus if you're a girl. (Male) Juniors don't even ask them for advice because of the lack of respect.

It indirectly says we don't care about having the best talent we don't care how fine tuned our ship is. We just care how it looks. It can sink for all we care, as long as it looks good while doing it, that's ok with us. Retarded logic and it needs to stop. Problem is that when it doesn't go right the people jump ship and go to the next company and cause it to sink.
