1) Stop looking for external validation. People on the internet, your "girlfriend," your parents and even your friends cannot give you the validation that you need, which is from yourself. Focus on improving yourself (work out, take up hobbies, cultivate interests). These are ways to truly foster your own sense of validation that no external source can give to you.

2) Life isn't easy and especially in your 20's it's not going to be all sunshine and rainbows...that's ok. Through the fire we are forged into better versions of our self, so if you think life is hard now, you're in store for a a whole lot more hardship.

3) Perception creates reality. So if you believe you aren't meant to be happy, then guess what, nothing will make you happy because you've already made up you mind that you won't be. Flip the script in your head and find the positive in life and your outlook will improve drastically.

4) You have to be dedicated to getting what you want out of life. Your friends live in other countries? So What? What's stopping you from hanging out a cafe and befriending some new people? Or joining a cooking class and getting to learn a fun skill and meet new people? You need to take ownership of your life. You have the keys to your own prison, the real question is will you pick them up and unlock the door?
