Sex is nothing more than rubbing skin together, in response to which your body produces happy chemicals that give you a rush. This pleasure is very short lived and fleeting. That is all a woman has to offer a man, and it just seems like it is not even close to worth what a man typically pays to get it.
This is why its weird that people are making such a big deal about it and shaming with "you can't get laid" and "incel" and so forth. It implies that the person feels superior over someone else, merely for having rubbed skin together with a woman.
Its also weird that whores can ask money for sex. Sex is something two people share together. So why should one of the parties be paying the other if it is mutual and both get pleasure? You don't pay people to give you a hug or be your friend, so why should anyone pay for sex?
============= BONUS (In response to the supply and demand argument):
The only explanation for this would be through enhanced demand and artificially created scarcity. Its value as perceived by most men is far beyond its intrinsic value. Demand is increased through popular culture telling men that their worth and status depends on how much sex they have. Artificial scarcity is created by women playing hard to get and withholding sex, even within relationships and marriages.
Whether married men want to admit it or not, access to sex is the primary reason for men to get married. The problem with this is that marriage puts a lot of obligations on the man but none on the woman. If she decides to reduce having sex with her husband to less than once a month, there is nothing he can do about that. But if he stops fulfilling his obligations, there is outrage and legal consequences.
If you don't know the difference between perceived value and intrinsic value, consider that the price of certain used cars goes up as the car gets older. The car gets older and so its intrinsic value decreases, but its perceived value increases due to scarcity because its production is limited. Its price then goes far beyond its intrinsic value.
