I found mgtow in 2016. After two more years of dating different women, I kept seeing all the red flags I would normally put up with. After ending things with the last girl, I decided to stop giving girls any special attention.

It's been a bit over a year now, but I still find myself valuing how women think of me. I still want women to find me attractive. I still want them to want me. And the strongest feeling is I still want to believe there's a unicorn out there for me. But I know better, yet I still have these feelings.

Does it pass?

I'm not a cold person and I'm emotional by nature. It takes more effort for me to play my cards close to my chest. I also believe I have low self-esteem, which is why I think I value how women think of me. I've been that way all my life.

What can I do about this and about myself? I want to be a better man, but for my own sake and not because I want women to want me. Am I just fighting against my own biology?
