So I’ve kept up with the MGTOW communities for a few years now, but have never quite saw myself committing to it. Generally speaking, it seems like I don’t really think the ways most of you guys do when it comes to other life aspects, but regardless, have a lot of the same issues with women. For perspective, I’m a 35 year old mostly liberal atheist, where as most of the posts I see mention being religious and/or conservative. I’m not anti-women or anything like that, because I do have genuine friendships with women who’s company I enjoy just as much as I do with my male friends.

Some might refer me to as an incel due to my luck, or lack thereof, on the genetic lottery. I’m only 5’2”, going bald and get overweight quickly if I don’t stay in the gym. However, I’ve had girlfriends, but not very many nor the ones I actually wanted. Just ended up dating the ones I could get at the time. After my last relationship, which lasted 4 years, I was determined to never someone just out of loneliness ever again, and just stay single until a woman I want actually wanted me, too.

Recent events, though, have gotten me closer and closer to the MGTOW line. I’ve consistently gotten “first dates” over the years, but very rarely did it ever get to more. My most recent first date’s mid-date cancellation and failure made me vent out to some of my woman friends. A couple of days later, one of said friend admits to me that women do that sort of thing all of the time. They act all flirtatious, because they like the attention, even if they’re not actually interested in the guy. They accept date plans, but assume the guy won’t follow through. Supposedly, 70% (her numbers, not mine) of the guys who ask them out, never actually follow through with the plans. Then, once they’ve gotten their free meal, movie viewing or whatever the event is, they bail. Rarely to be heard from again. In her mind, it’s easier to play along than it is to just say no. Zero concern for the amount of time I’ve wasted planning the date, nor money I’ve spent to make it possible. Neither resource being something I can get back, but both of which I could have spent differently.

This post has gotten longer than I initially intended, but I’ve just been so frustrated at the whole issue that I needed to write it out somewhere, and this seemed like the best place to do that. My mind is most definitely in the struggle of NAWALT vs AWALT. On top of that, I’m just wondering where I might “fit in” if MGTOW was the path I was to choose. Am I correct to think that most of you guys tend to be religious conservatives? If you are or not, how much of a factor would you consider those types of beliefs, among other world views would you say ties into your MGTOW path? I guess, technically, “going my own way” would mean that my path could be completely different from anyone else’s, but I’m genuinely curious about the overall outlook.
