One thing that became clear to me after watching Eyes Wide Shut with my ex gf who said that movie was correct (referring to Nicole Kidman’s role) is that female libido is off the charts. I instantly knew then from reflecting on prior situations that she had cheated on me and wanted to fight because that’s how she really got off. It’s was akin to fantasy rape and dangerous situations which risked exposure. She like Kidman could never be satisfied having a man go to work and support her in the home. So glad we never had kids.

One is looking to get his rocks off and the other is looking for a better love, better life, better sex and even if they can't get any of that, can still get plenty of drama by imploding the relationship. Not that I condone cheating, but I'd imagine a lot of "secret" relationships get outed by the other woman to fuel the dramatic fire.
