I definitely notice. It's depresseing, really. My mom was in and out for a large part of my childhood, and I really value everything my dad has done. Honestly, can he not get ONE day?!

Ha. I was blocked on a sub because I threw in a thanks to the fathers on this day, too. Not obnoxiously, not rude. Just a nod to the guys. And it wasn't a feminist sub, either.

Stoicism is still embedded enough in the male self-image that no one wants to be seen as bitching about it. It’s the same reason Men’s Rights is less popular than feminism—joining together to complain is still seen as womanly behavior.

It's because kicking up a shitstorm about Mother's Day would not benefit men in any way, and as a general rule, men know not to do something if there is no point. In my experience, anyway.
