Yes, I know, social media is controversial on here- many are for it and many against it. But for those of you (usually 18-25 target demo) that are avid social media users, you've probably figured out by now that basically every girl is on Instagram. Its a photo showing validation seeking popularity contest where women drown in likes and dudes hitting them up in DMs.

Lately, I've noticed a trend of hot girls getting photos taken of them by "photographers" even more so than usual over the few years I've used it. So basically unpaid instagram modelling where girls get guys (sometimes girls) who are "Instagram photographers" to "shoot" and take photos of them for their "portfolio". Both sides win- you have a girl who would love some nice looking photos to post on her social media, and a guy who wants to presumably build up his portfolio/profile.

Nobody gets paid, all they do is take photos for Instagram.

But I spoke to some girls and guys on this and think I found the real thing going on here.

Theres basically a bunch of dudes who run these pages where all they do is take pics of hot girls at waterfalls and shit. Sometimes they use their main profile, other times they use their name and add "photography" to the end.

May look brilliant but seems scummy and pointless at the same time. From the girls I've spoken to, they get sent messages all the time asking them to pose for photos to "build their portfolio". These dudes have personal profiles, usually a decent amount of followers and then pics of trees, city buildings and then a shit ton of scantily clad half naked women. If they look legit the girl will either message them or accept their request and have some photos done free.

TLDR: I've noticed a growing trend of "amateur photographers" using social media platforms like Instagram to approach and photograph women and show status of associating with said women under the guise of being artists/photographers. I'm sure a couple people do it for fun but it seems like some clever guys with cameras taking advantage of the fact girls love validation and posing as models.

Executed correctly I'm sure some savvy dudes could just pretend to like photography in order to photograph and meet amateur models. But at the same time 90% could be seeing guys cucking themselves and providing free photo services to women who could care less. Just something to be aware of, no ground breaking reveals here but an interesting angle on the whole "model/photography/art" thing going on w/ social media
