let me tell you a story. when i was 8 or 9, i was up in a tree with my best friend by the park. his family was much more sexual than mine was, his parents had porn, and his mom kinda walked around in lingerie some times even though she was overweight. my family was highly moral, except my dad cursed a lot from working in the woods and being in the navy. my friend asked me if I was circumcised, and I didn't know what that meant. he told me and I realized I wasn't, and felt very insecure and weird, and I can say it was one of the very few times in my life I've lied to a male friend. I ended up bringing it up with my mom somehow (I was super shy) and I got really mad at her for overhearing her talking to her friend -my best friend's mom- about it. she told me I could have it done if that's what I really wanted, and quickly I let it go, it didn't matter to me, even though back then I didn't have the information we have now and definitely wouldn't have considered it. I was very lucky in the first place, as my parents were religious and my father was circumcised. Her thought process was God put it here, so she/they have no right to have it removed. Needless to say I am vocal about the subject now even with my friends if it gets brought up. It is not your choice to mutilate someone just because it is your child, religious or not.

I was forcibly circumcised as an infant and fucking hate it. I feel violated and dismayed that both my parents and the medical establishment would allow that to happen to me. This was borne of 150 years of crack pot misinformation and deception. Within the last 5 years or so, I noticed that my sensitivity had been tanking and I needed to do something about it.

Since committing to restoration almost a year ago, things feel better, more natural, and I'm able to deal with my emotions (edit: regarding my forced genital cutting) better. I've grown enough skin that my glans is covered almost all the time while I sit, and half the time when I walk. I've no doubt that full flaccid coverage is just around the corner and with that comes the dekeratinization and more sensitive glans.

If you're even slightly curious about foreskin restoration, I'd strongly suggest you check out the subreddit for it, r/foreskin_restoration, and decide if it's for you. Plenty of men have gone through this process to varying degrees, and almost none have had any negative effects.

My only regret is that I didn't start and commit to it when I first heard about restoration when I was about 18, almost 15 years ago. I'd have been done with my restoration about a decade ago had I done that.

I also support a full ban of non-medical genital cutting until age 18, when the person is able to make the decision for themselves.
