That’s like how they call murdering your baby “shaking baby syndrome” like it contracted an illness and shook to death. When I was in the hospital for the birth of my son, they gave me a pamphlet about childcare. It was for both of us but it discussed the basics of newborns. They had a section about frustration caused by babies crying and of course it was a man who was the one depicted getting mad and shaking the child to death. I see more cases of women murdering their kids via shaking and other means when they snap than men. It pissed me off back then and it still pisses me off. It’s not a syndrome, it’s murder and they shouldn’t get a slap on the wrist either.

Further thought, it’s also insulting because I was able to handle the stress of my child unlike my ex-wife who struggled to keep her shit together. My son was a good baby who didn’t cry or fight too much. He was well behaved all the while. When we were weaning him from the bottle, it was late at night (like 2-3 in the morning) and he had woke up. Rather than just give him a small drink from the bottle to settle him down so I could go back to sleep for work the next day (she didn’t work). She just smacked him making him cry more. And then she smacked him again a few minutes later for crying for a bottle. At that point, I had enough and stormed into the room. I told her to stop immediately, and I went to get him a small bottle. Came back in the room and gave it to him and told her that it’s done. She can work on the bottle weaning at another time and that she was to leave him alone. The next day, I told her that if she ever behaved that way again, I’d kick her out and keep him away from her. She didn’t do it again.

We did get divorced but that was because she was a shit wife overall but that’s a different topic
