It is just another form of "Man up and take responsibility. Nobody cares about you."

And yes, it is a good thing to love yourself. But it is rarely used in that manner. It is used as an excuse to treat men like shit (like always). Edit: just look at the username of the man who said it to get an idea.

Ex: Good, but naive man asks why nobody will love him. Everyone will tell him he needs to have confidence and love himself.

But why does the man have no confidence and have zero love in himself anyway? Hmmmm. It is almost like the world treated him like shit and he acted rationally to the abuse (I must be shitty because everyone treats me like I am shitty). Now people want him to recover to pay for everyone else's fun (be the beta bux).

So no, do not love yourself. Stop giving a fuck about the world, then love yourself. Use the world like it uses you, because you deserve better and the world deserves worse.

Loving yourself also includes taking care of yourself. Leave the self-destructive activities behind. Keep your mind active yet calm by not procrastinating and not dwelling on anger, sadness or frustration while always learning. Eat healthily and stay active. It doesn’t necessarily mean going to the gym and working on gains. Just going for walks, stretching and keeping your body limber is great. Keep your place clean and fill it with things you love. That’s your castle, the temple of you. Make cleaning, maintaining and decorating it a ritual. Focus on being yourself and walking your own unique path. When you do that, you’ll find how important it is and how other things (like not getting laid) just don’t matter as much. The unfortunate thing is when you do all this you’ll usually find that’s when the bitches flock to you. They can sniff out a free and mentally mature man who doesn’t care about nonsense anymore and they’ll want to undo everything you’ve built. Never work on yourself because you think it’s another tactic to get women. That’s not the right state of mind. That’s pick up bullshit. Do it for you, for your quest, for your purpose.
