A constant problem I see is people turning their superiors or women into perceived gods. This can be detrimental to confidence and progress if it goes unchecked.

Half the people I know never talk to their bosses or woman about anything other than what is necessary. They live in fear of what might be said or how their influence may be used against them.

This is when humanization is needed. People who are perceived with superiority seem to hold an unjustifiable amount of power over their followers. They all have faults, flaws and unlived dreams. Despite how important they are or beautiful they may be, they are just as flawed as anyone else.

The most interesting way I’ve found to humanize significant people to me is to simply ask them ‘What do you get excited about?’ or ‘What are you passionate about in your life?’ This opens up a huge range of topics to be spoken of, and you won’t be expecting a lot of the answers you get.

A more simple way is to just ask about their home life. Most people will have something to complain about in regards to their home life, and this instantly humanizes them.

Listen to it here.
