This is a short example backing up the ideology of preselection.

Recently I had the opportunity to attend a dance/ holiday party hosted by some of the wealthier people in my town due to my friendship with one of the host's daughter. Once I arrived the first person I came in to contact with just happened to be the most popular girl from my high school (hb9.5). We're mutual acquaintances as we used to work together for one summer but I wouldn't consider us friends and we never talked in high school. The conversation went like this:

Her: "I see you have a girlfriend now."

Me: "I do."

eyes light up

her: "She's very pretty and looks nice."

Me: "Thanks"

Her friend (another girl I knew from high school) walks over

Her: "Did you know LaunchKeyy has a gf now?"

friend: "No, really?"

Me: "Yeah"

friends eyes light up

friend: "what's she like?"

Me: "she's awesome"

I make some more small talk until I excuse myself to see the friend that invited me

Notice how there was no "hi, how are you?", or "how has life been going for you?". I haven't seen these girls in over a year but they immediately jumped on the fact that I had a girlfriend and wanted to know all about my relationship. A year ago I probably wouldn't have picked up on this but their body language and communication was just so blatantly obvious to me now.
